I have several craggy old willow trees in my front yard. They need to be pruned but two were homes to woodpeckers this Spring so I thought that I would wait. These were the same woodpeckers that dug holes into my roof before they decided that the trees were just as good and that they were not filled with scratchy insulation. (Replaced roof.) Anyway, before I could get the trees trimmed, I heard a noise after being out for the evening with my Honey. It sounded like a squirrel having it out with a robin. It was kind of a strange chirping yet clucking sound. My Honey went inside while I investigated. I went inside a few moments later and asked My Honey to come to see.
We have four owls in the trees. One is about the size of a can of Rock Star energy drink (My Honey's favorite beverage!) The other three are still about the size of soda pop cans. To quote My Honey, "They're ADORABLE!" I'll let you decide for yourselves. I only got a picture of one and my Night Vision is second generation garbage and the owl was a good thirty feet up but at least you can make out the shape:
